Dr. Jaime D. Almora Jr. is a General, Cancer, and Laparoscopic Surgeon who chose to return to Kalinga to serve his people. A graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine (2018), he completed his General Surgery Residency at the Philippine General Hospital (2024) and earned his Certification in Minimally Invasive and Laparoscopic Surgery from the University of Strasbourg – IRCAD Taiwan (2025).

Now a Diplomate of the Philippine Board of Surgery, he leads AGH’s Surgical Services with the belief that skill and compassion must always go hand in hand.

    Dr. Jaime D. Almora Jr. is a General, Cancer, and Laparoscopic Surgeon and serves as Director for Surgical Services at Almora General Hospital. Representing the next generation of the Almora family’s medical legacy, he chose to return to Kalinga—a place close to his heart—to serve his people with the same spirit of compassion and excellence that his parents embodied.

    While many of his peers pursued careers in large urban hospitals or overseas, Dr. Almora Jr. made the deliberate choice to bring his world-class training home, ensuring that advanced surgical care is accessible to the people of Kalinga. Guided by purpose, faith, and commitment, he continues the family’s enduring belief that healthcare is both a science and a calling.

    He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine (Class of 2018) and completed his Residency in General Surgery at the Philippine General Hospital (Class of 2024)—one of the most rigorous surgical programs in the country. In 2025, he received his Certification in Minimally Invasive and Laparoscopic Surgery from the University of Strasbourg – IRCAD Taiwan, and became a Diplomate of the Philippine Board of Surgery (DPBS).
