Emergency Medicine Physician
Director for Clinical Services, Almora General HospitalDr. Christine Almora Samuel is a physician whose heart for service transcends opportunity. While many of her peers pursued medical careers in the city and abroad, she chose to return home to Kalinga—where access to emergency care remains limited—to serve as the province’s first and only Emergency Medicine specialist. Guided by faith, compassion, and a profound sense of purpose, she continues the Almora family legacy of bringing quality healthcare to the Cordilleras.
Before becoming a doctor, Dr. Samuel graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Santo Tomas, where she ranked among the Top 10 in the July 2011 Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination. Her early success affirmed her belief that care is a vocation, not a profession—a conviction that would shape her journey in medicine.
She later earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of the East – Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (UERMMMC) and completed her residency training in Emergency Medicine, where she consistently placed in the Top 10 of the national in-service examinations.
At Almora General Hospital, Dr. Samuel leads as Director for Clinical Services, overseeing emergency response systems and guiding the hospital’s medical teams with excellence and empathy. She also plays a key role in AGH’s Nurse Training Program, mentoring young nurses to combine competence with compassion in every act of care.
A trained HIV counselor, she advocates for inclusive, stigma-free healthcare and patient education—especially in vulnerable and underserved communities.
“Care is more than what we do—it is who we are. Every patient we serve is a reminder that medicine is both a science and a sacred calling.”
